You have to set your scanning software to “Color Negative Film” so it corrects for the orange masking.

If you try to scan the negative in regular color you will get the orange as you mentioned and if you try to convert it to positive then it will just turn blue. Your software MUST have the capability of handling the orange masking of a color negative.
